Paul Hill was born in in Ludlow in 1941. His beginnings were in photojournalism and by the early 1960s he had become a freelance photographer. In 1974 he was the founding head of Creative Photography at Trent Polytechnic in Nottingham and in the late 1970s also founded The Photographer’s Place in Derbyshire which is still an active workshop venue. Though much of his work centers in the Midlands, Paul works and teaches globally.
